# InBody

> Connect your InBody device so body composition scans land in the patient chart automatically.

<Info>
  **Prerequisites:** The InBody module must be turned on for your clinic, and you need a LookinBody Web account. Go to **Settings > Clinical > InBody** to connect it.
</Info>

Once connected, every scan taken on your InBody device is added to the patient's [measurements](/modules/patients/measurements): weight, body fat, muscle mass, body water, segmental fat, InBody Score, and the other values on the printed result sheet. Values from a scan carry an **InBody scan** badge and can't be edited, so the chart always matches what the device measured. You can still set goals on them.

## Connect Your Account

<Steps>
  <Step title="Enter your LookinBody details">
    On the **Connection** tab, enter your **Account name** and **API key**. You can find both on the InBody Developers Setup page. Optionally pick a **Unit setting**; Decoda works out units from each scan, so most clinics can leave it blank. Click **Connect**. Decoda checks the key with LookinBody before saving it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Finish setup in InBody">
    Under **Finish setup in InBody**, copy the **Webhook URL**, **Header name**, and **Header value**. On the InBody Developers Setup page, add a webhook pointing at that URL with a custom header using that name and value. Do this before your first scan.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Take a test scan">
    Scan someone on the device. **Last delivery received** updates once Decoda hears from InBody.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## How Scans Find the Right Patient

Decoda matches each scan to a patient by the phone number, email address, or name and date of birth entered on the device. Make sure the phone number on the device is the same one on the patient's record in Decoda.

When a scan can't be placed, a notice appears at the top of the InBody settings page:

* *couldn't be matched to a patient* -- Decoda has the results but found nobody who matches. Fix the patient's phone number or email in Decoda, then click **Try again**, or assign the scan by hand (below).
* *need review in LookinBody Web* -- LookinBody is holding the scan. Review it in LookinBody Web, then click **Dismiss this notice**.
* *couldn't be downloaded from LookinBody* -- The device reported the scan but the results never arrived. Click **Try again** and check back in a few minutes.

## Assign Scans by Hand

On the **Scan matching** tab, search for the InBody member by their LookinBody user ID. Click **Assign patient** and pick the patient. That member's past and future scans are all filed to that patient.

To undo a wrong match, click **Unlink** and confirm. The member's scans come off the patient, and the measurements taken from them are permanently deleted from the chart.
