Mobile App Installation

Decoda is available as a Progressive Web App (PWA) that you can install on your iOS or Android device. Once installed, you can access Decoda directly from your home screen with a native app-like experience.

Installation Instructions

iOS (iPhone & iPad)

To install Decoda on your iOS device:
  1. Open Decoda in Safari (the app must be opened in Safari, not other browsers)
  2. Tap the Share button (square with arrow pointing up) at the bottom of the screen
  3. Scroll down in the share menu and tap “Add to Home Screen”
  4. Customize the name if desired, then tap “Add” to confirm
The Decoda app icon will now appear on your home screen. Tap it to launch the app in standalone mode.

Android & Chrome

To install Decoda on your Android device or Chrome browser:
  1. Open Decoda in Chrome or another Chromium-based browser
  2. Look for the install prompt that appears, or:
    • Tap the menu (three dots) in the top-right corner
    • Select “Install app” or “Add to Home screen”
  3. Confirm the installation when prompted
The Decoda app will be installed and accessible from your home screen or app drawer.

Troubleshooting

iOS Installation Issues

  • Can’t find “Add to Home Screen”: Make sure you’re using Safari, not Chrome or other browsers
  • Share button not visible: Try scrolling the page or refreshing
  • Installation fails: Ensure you have sufficient storage space and try again

Android Installation Issues

  • Install prompt doesn’t appear: Check your browser settings to ensure PWA installation is enabled
  • App won’t install: Clear your browser cache and try again
  • Icon missing: The app may be in your app drawer rather than your home screen

Updating the App

The Decoda mobile app updates automatically when you have an internet connection. You’ll be prompted to refresh when a new version is available. Simply reload the app to get the latest features and improvements.
