Tags are colored labels that help you organize and quickly identify care plan templates and patient care plans. For example, you might use tags like “Weight Loss”, “Post-Surgery”, or “Dental” to categorize plans by treatment type. Every template and every care plan must have at least one tag.
Tags are shared across your organization. Once you create a tag, it becomes available to all staff in every area where tags are used.

Create a Tag

Tags are created inline — there is no separate settings page for them. You can create a new tag anywhere a Tags section appears (template editor, care plan editor, etc.).
1

Find the Tags Section

In any template or care plan editor, find the Tags section.
2

Start Creating

Click the New Tag button below the existing tags.
3

Enter a Name and Pick a Color

Type a name for the tag (e.g., “Physical Therapy”). Then select a color from the color palette. The color appears as a visual label wherever the tag is shown.
4

Save the Tag

Click Add or press Enter to create the tag. The new tag is added to your selected tags list immediately.

Add or Remove Tags

  • To add an existing tag, click it from the list of available tags below the selected ones.
  • To remove a tag, click the X on a selected tag to deselect it.
At least one tag is always required. If you try to save a template or care plan with no tags, an error appears at save time prompting you to add one.

Managing Tags

  • Removing a tag from a specific care plan or template does not delete it from your organization — it remains available for use elsewhere.
  • The tag picker shows your existing tags as a list. Click a tag to select it, or click New Tag at the bottom to create one.
Tag names and colors cannot be changed after creation. If you need a different name or color, create a new tag and replace the old one on your templates and care plans.
