Payment mediums are the different ways your clinic accepts payment — credit card, cash, check, Venmo, and so on. This page lists every medium available during checkout, including the built-in system types and any custom settlement types you have added. Navigate to Settings > Payment Mediums to open this page.
This page shows every medium in one table, including system types (read-only). To manage custom settlement types alongside other payment configuration, you can also use the Payment Mediums section on the Payment Management page.

View Payment Mediums

The table lists every payment medium with two columns:
  • Name — the label shown during checkout.
  • Type — either System (built-in, cannot be edited or deleted) or Custom (added by your organization).
System mediums are provided by Decoda and cover the standard methods most clinics need. Custom mediums are anything you add for alternative settlement methods specific to your practice.

Add a Custom Settlement Type

1

Open the Form

Click Add Custom Settlement Type in the top right.
2

Enter a Name

Type a descriptive name for the payment method (e.g., “Venmo”, “Zelle”, “HSA Card”, “Cherry Financing”).
3

Create

Click Create. The new settlement type appears in the table with a Custom badge and is immediately available during checkout.

Edit a Custom Settlement Type

Click the Edit icon on a custom row, update the name, and click Update. System mediums do not have edit controls.

Archive a Custom Settlement Type

Click the Archive icon on a custom row. A confirmation prompt appears — review it and confirm.
Archiving a custom settlement type can be undone. System mediums cannot be archived.

Advanced Configuration

Payment Mediums is gated by role-based permissions:
  • View Payment Settings — required to view this page.
  • Manage Payment Settings — required to add, edit, or archive custom settlement types.
Admin users have full access by default.
