Where to find Closures: In the left sidebar, click Settings > Phone Numbers, then click Configure call routing on a phone number. Closures are listed in the sidebar of the detail page.
How Closures Affect Call Routing
Closures have the highest priority in the routing system. When a closure is active:- Scheduled ring groups are skipped.
- Scheduled AI assistants are skipped.
- The call goes straight to your off-hours handler (either an off-hours AI assistant or an always-on ring group).
Tip: Before creating closures, make sure you have an off-hours handler set up on the phone number. Otherwise, calls during closures will have no one to answer them.
Create a One-Off Closure
A one-off closure covers a specific date range. Use this for holidays, planned office closings, or emergencies.- On the phone number detail page, click Add Closure (the button with a moon icon).
- Give the closure a name (for example, “Thanksgiving” or “Office Renovation”).
- Select One-off as the type.
- Pick the start date and end date.
- Save the closure.
Closure dates follow the phone number’s time zone. A one-off closure runs from the start of your first day to the end of your last day in your clinic’s local time, so the dates you pick and see always match the days your clinic is actually closed.
Create a Recurring Closure
A recurring closure repeats on a regular schedule. Use this for predictable closings like every Sunday, or the first Monday of each month.Weekly Recurring
- Click Add Closure on the phone number detail page.
- Give the closure a name (for example, “Sunday Closure”).
- Select Weekly as the type.
- Check the days of the week when the closure should be active, and set the time range for each day.
- Save the closure.
Monthly or Yearly Recurring
- Click Add Closure on the phone number detail page.
- Give the closure a name.
- Select Monthly or Yearly as the type.
- Configure the recurrence pattern (for example, the first Monday of every month, or December 25 every year).
- Save the closure.
