Patients see three kinds of images across your booking and shop pages. Each one is cropped or scaled differently, so uploading the right shape matters more than uploading the biggest file you have.
Item Photos
Add a photo when you create or edit a product, service, medication, package, or gift card. Upload a JPEG, PNG, or WebP up to 5 MB.
One setting controls the shape of every item photo in your shop. Go to Settings > Patient Experience > Shop and pick under Product image aspect ratio:
- Wide (16:9) — the photo fills the full width of the card and is cropped at the top and bottom. Best for treatment and lifestyle photography.
- Square (1:1) — the whole photo is shown with nothing cropped, and any empty space is filled with the card background. Best for product shots on a plain or transparent background.
Aim for 1200 × 675 px if you use wide, or 800 × 800 px if you use square. The strip on a wide card is slightly shorter than a true 16:9 photo, so keep your subject centered — anything near the top or bottom edge may be trimmed.
The same photo is reused in two other places: the item window patients open before buying, which crops to a wide strip, and a small square thumbnail in the cart. A centered subject survives all three.
Item photos are used exactly as you upload them — nothing is shrunk for you. A 5 MB photo is downloaded at its full 5 MB the first time a patient scrolls to it, just to fill a card a few hundred pixels wide. Save your images at around 500 KB or less to keep the shop fast.
The photo across the top of your self-scheduling and shop pages is the Location Photo from each of your locations. Decoda cycles through the photos of every location that has one, changing every 10 seconds. There is no separate header image setting.
See Locations for how to upload one.
The header is about 900 px wide and 190 px tall on a computer, and full screen width by 145 px on a phone. Photos are cropped to fill that space, so upload something wide — 1800 × 600 px works well on both. Keep the important part of the picture in the middle, and avoid photos with words in them, since the edges get trimmed at smaller screen sizes.
Practice Logo
Go to Settings > Patient Experience > Branding and upload your logo under Practice Logo. You can drag a file onto the box or click to browse. PNG, JPG, or GIF up to 5 MB.
Use a PNG with a transparent background. Your logo sits directly on your brand colors on booking pages, receipts, and invoices, and on white in emails and PDFs. A JPG cannot store transparency, so it always carries a solid rectangle around your logo that shows up as a white box on every colored page. A GIF can be transparent but often leaves rough edges — PNG is the safer choice.
Two more things that make a logo look right:
- Crop tightly. Trim the empty space around the edges of the image. Decoda scales the logo to fit its space, so built-in padding just makes your logo appear smaller than everyone else’s.
- Go horizontal. The logo is displayed as a short, wide strip about 36 px tall. A wide lockup reads clearly; a tall stacked logo shrinks until the text is unreadable. Around 600 × 200 px is plenty — bigger files gain you nothing.
