Smart Mentions work in any text field across Decoda. To add or edit custom snippets, go to Settings > Suggestions.
Type @ in any text field to insert system information without typing it by hand — patient names, payment links, your practice name, and any custom snippets your practice has saved. A preview card shows the exact text that will be inserted, so you can confirm it’s the right one before selecting.

What You Can Insert

Practice information

  • Your practice name (type @tenant_name)
  • Any custom snippets your practice has saved in Suggestions

Patient information

  • First name, last name, or full name
  • Payment links and outstanding balance
  • Patient creation date
  • Patient ID

Assistant information

When configuring AI responses or templates, you can reference assistant-specific information through the same @ menu.

Insert a Smart Mention

Type @ in any text field. A list of matching suggestions appears — keep typing to filter it, then click a suggestion or use the arrow keys and press Enter. The more letters you type after @, the more the list narrows.

Create a Custom Snippet

Go to Settings > Suggestions (or press ⌘K on Mac, Ctrl+K on Windows, and search for “Suggestions”). Click + in the top right, give the snippet a label — this is what you’ll type after @ to find it — enter the content, and click Save. The snippet appears alongside the built-in suggestions in every text field.
